Studley Engineering completes gas conversion project for Eastham Oil Refinery in Ellesmere Port.
The project includes the modification of a number of existing oil fired heaters at the facility to convert them to natural gas fired units. The works also include the replacement of fired heater burner management systems and fuel skids, together with natural gas handling and distribution requirements throughout the facility.
During a planned eight week shutdown in January, Studley’s mechanical team carried out the disinvestment of the oil fired burners, along with the redundant associated pipework, ductwork and steelwork.
The fabrication of the three new fuel gas skids, along with the new pipework and steelwork, was carried out in our workshops in Liverpool.
The installation, tie-ins, testing and commissioning support were completed without incident.
Studley Electrical installed the process instruments and completed their hook-up.
